Center Theatre Group Student Ambassador Program

​Description: Centre Theater Group's Student Ambassador Programs allows students to participate in long term projects designing special events for their peers and teens on how to become advocates for the arts. No arts, theater, or leadership experience required.

Visual, Media, and Performing Arts Institutes

​​Description: Inner-City Arts' Visual, Media & Performing Arts Institutes offer after-school and weekend workshops to middle and high school students. Every workshop provides students with a valuable opportunity for creative exploration, performance, individual and group study, connections to mentorship opportunities, and career-development support. Students who participate may apply for a summer internship.

Description: Unshuttered is a 10-week photography program for high school-aged artists. We are looking for teens, aged 15-19, who are passionate about photography with some informal or formal experience or training, excited about using photography to spark social change and conversation, and eager to share photographs and ideas on Unshuttered digital platforms.

Description: The program includes a content platform that publishes student work on LATimes.com. High School Insider works to amplify student voices around the issues that matter to them, with a focus on underserved schools and communities.

Through the Lens: Our Community, Our Stories

Description: Through the Lens: Our Community, Our Stories is a FREE registration-based, 9-week after school program. Participants will have the opportunity to learn foundational documentary film skills, develop their experience in visual storytelling, and participate in professional development opportunities with industry professionals.

​Summer Journalism Program

Description: The Princeton University Summer Journalism Program welcomes 35-40 students every summer to Princeton's campus for a 10 day seminar on journalism. The program provides students with the chance to be taught by reporters and editors from renowned newspapers and magazines.

Description: Study an arts discipline with alumni and students from the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts). For four weeks starting in June, you'll learn what it means to be a professional artist. All levels of experience are welcome to apply.

Draw Your Power

Grade: 14 to 16 years old
Deadline: June 1
​Description: Over the course of two weeks, teenagers will work alongside a local artists and literacy coach to craft their stories, based on a teen-derived theme. Students will be introduced to comic art in the Museum's collection, as well as the work of local comic artists. Students will be mentored in their art production by a prominent artist in the comic art genre.

Annenberg Youth Academy

Grade: 9th, 10th, 11th

​Description: The Annenberg Youth Academy for Media and Civic Engagement is a four-week summer intensive academy for 26 talented high school students from the communities surrounding the USC University Park and Health Science Campuses. Students are exposed to the equivalent of first-year college-level courses and develop a rich conceptual understanding and practice of the necessary role that media communications and journalism play in fashioning civic-minded thought leaders and innovators.

LA MOTH Voices of History

​Description: Through this special summer workshop, students learn about the Holocaust, develop skills in documentary filmmaking and interviewing techniques, and dialogue with Holocaust survivors at Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust.​

​Description: Ideal TIP candidates are responsible young adults completing their Junior or Senior year at an LA County high school, with a record of high academic achievement (GPA of 3.0 or better), consistent attendance, knowledge and use of social media, and, above all, have a passion to work in one of these identified fields: Arts, Media & Entertainment; Energy & Environment/Business; Health Science & Medical Technology; and Government, Philanthropy & Social Impact.
