We have a two-pronged approach that allows for both high touch supports on school sites inside and outside of the traditional district system, and an intensive work-based learning experience available for students county-wide. These experiences can level the playing field for many students in Los Angeles.
School Year Program
We place 300 high school students from our partner schools-- Manual Arts High School and West Adams Preparatory High School, and our LAPF Schools– in high-value mentorships, enrichment programs, and volunteer opportunities. This is part of our commitment to connecting high school students with experiences and tools they need for future career success. In this same effort, we have built a curated list of opportunities that students can take advantage of during the school year.
We run an intensive summer program, which connects deserving LA County public high school juniors and seniors with the chance to work in dynamic career areas through paid internships of four or more weeks during their summer break. Students have worked in fields like digital media, entertainment, engineering, technology, healthcare, and design. This program is open by application only in January of every year.
